Professor White Passes Away
With great sadness, we learned this week of the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Professor John “Mike” White, who passed away on Friday, August 31st. Dr. White was a physical chemist who had been with the university since 1966 when he was hired as an assistant professor. He cared passionately for his students and coworkers and remains an inspiration to them as well as all others who interacted with him. He was never too busy to provide advice and counsel, something we all shall miss. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. More on his life's work inside.
