Chemistry Professor and Former President Hackerman dies at age 95 The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The University of Texas at Austin is sad to report the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Norman Hackerman. Dr. Hackerman died Saturday, June 16th at the age of 95. For over seven decades, he maintained a prolific career in scientific teaching and research, and his absence is a great loss to the university, the State of Texas, and the global scientific community. Our deepest sympathies are with his family at this time.
